The 3 ring bit combines effective lateral restriction, leverage and lifting effects
in one. The degree of effect is selected via the different buckling possibilities
for the reins. Attached to the bottom ring, the applied rein will have the effect
of a short lever on the bit. The 3 ring bit is often used to test the horse‘s
reaction to a lever effect.
